Bittware’s RFSoC solutions and its new 3U VPX FPGA cards
Today’s RF projects demand SDR solutions that are high-performance, reconfigurable, and quickly available. To address these challenges, BittWare offers the RFX 880/770 cards and WaveBox modular servers, delivering an efficient, compact, and high-performance approach.
For applications deployed in harsh environments, BittWare is also launching a new generation of 3U VPX cards for aerospace and defense.
RFX: High-Performance Direct RF Cards
The RFX 880 and RFX 770 are cards designed for wideband direct RF sampling, covering a wide range of use cases across a radio spectrum extending beyond 30 GHz. They aim to consolidate or upgrade traditional RF equipment, or to rapidly implement SDR solutions for new projects, including 5G telecommunications, SatCom, and quantum computing.
- 3rd Generation AMD Zynq UltraScale RFSoC
- 14-bit ADCs (5 GSPS) and 4x 14-bit DACs (9.7 GSPS)
- Direct sampling from 50 MHz to 6 GHz
- High-speed digital I/Os via QSFP-DD up to 400 Gb/s
- RF front-end configuration options and Up/Down conversion up to 35 GHz
WaveBox: Modular Direct RF Server System
The WaveBox family is designed to host BittWare’s RFX cards in a highly compact and versatile rackmount chassis, creating a complete “direct RF” system. It accelerates and simplifies the deployment of high-density RF systems, reducing the complexity and footprint of traditional RF equipment.
- WaveBox Gamma: A 1U “no-host” appliance centered around the RFX 880. This architecture is designed for applications where an external CPU is not required, focusing on RF-to-packet conversion.
- WaveBox Sigma: A 1U server that includes CPUs and provides a PCIe interface, allowing the RFX 770 to operate as a standard PCIe card within a server environment.
The RFX and WaveBox product lines include the free RFX Surfer graphical interface for configuration and monitoring, and are ideal for:
- Satellite Communications (Satcom)
- SDR development, 5G networks, LTE, and phased array radar
- Electronic warfare (EW) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT)
- Quantum computing, testing, and measurement
