25 Sep Highlights of Our MTCA Day : From Science to Industry
Looking back at our MTCA Day : a day full of exchanges and innovations
One week after our MTCA event, the excitement is still going strong! This event brought together numerous participants, both in person and online, around the MTCA standard (MicroTCA or µTCA). The goal? To share knowledge, explore new applications, and discuss the scientific and industrial challenges related to MTCA.
A rich and diverse program
The sessions provided an opportunity to deepen knowledge on the various uses of MTCA, whether in science, industry, quantum technologies, telecommunications, computer vision, or defense. At the heart of the day, several highlights stood out for the participants:
1. Technical presentations on the MTCA ecosystem
The event began with an opening speech, followed by presentations on the MTCA standard and its components by EMG2, and then by technological developments shared by the NAT Europe team. These sessions allowed the audience to gain a better understanding of the standard and to establish a common knowledge base, making it easier to follow the more in-depth presentations that came later. We even organized a quiz based on these morning training sessions, which resulted in a four-way tie for first place. That shows how attentive and knowledgeable the audience was! Or perhaps it was thanks to the high quality of the presentations 😉. The winners were rewarded and had the pleasure of receiving some souvenir gifts!
2. Concrete and inspiring experiences shared by scientific and industrial leaders
To illustrate the use of the MTCA standard in scientific and industrial fields, several stakeholders from these sectors presented their projects and explained why the MTCA standard proved particularly well-suited to their needs. These testimonials highlighted the advantages of MTCA, especially compared to other standards.

3. Live demonstrations led by experts from NAT Europe and ABTICS
The presentation sessions were complemented by live demonstrations of use cases, organized by NAT Europe, SYRTEM, and ABTICS (the R&D subsidiary of EMG2). Various applications and projects based on the MTCA standard were showcased, fostering numerous exchanges while also allowing some participants to discover the uses of MTCA boards and related cards for industrial, military, scientific, and telecommunications applications.
Networking sessions
The event would not have been complete without its networking sessions, special moments where participants were able to meet and connect with other users and build new connections. These encounters helped strengthen and energize the MTCA community by encouraging the sharing of use cases and experiences around the MTCA standard, all in a friendly atmosphere enhanced by delicious snacks and refreshments.
And what’s next?
In light of the success of this event, we plan to continue the MTCA adventure with a more technical and even more interactive workshop in 2026. This new format will offer further opportunities for collaboration within the community.
